Recent job postings reveal that the Xbox Console Architecture team is hunting for new blood. Well, if the games industry rumour mill is anything to go by – and it usually isn’t – it seems Microsoft may be gearing up to supply some details about the forthcoming successor to the Xbox 360. Both Microsoft and Sony have remained resolutely silent about what might come after the current crop of games consoles – Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Both PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 have to be launched at the same time if they want to stand any chance to outclass each other in the console market. The only way I can get excited about a new console generation is if it’s going to be upgradeable.
