Recently, Taiwan Affairs Office has conducted an exchange conference of Taiwanese-invested enterprises on industrial shift in Guangzhou. More than half Taiwan enterprises , which plans to shift , are the shoes and clothing factories. Seven cities competed this opportunity together including Meizhou , Heyuan and so on. At the same time, Taiwan Association of Guangzhou signed the cooperation framework with these cities

Chen Mingde , who was the vice mayor of Guangzhou, said Guangzhou may strengthen the cooperation with these attending city and hold this rare opportunity in this time. Meanwhile, carriing out the substantive exchange regarding “the double shift” and proposing the new intention and project accurately are also important businesses. He hoped that Guangzhou will soon make the breakthrough in the promotion through this new cooperation.

According to the statistics, up to the first half of this year, the amounts of Taiwanese-invested enterprises in Guangzhou accumulated to 2734. At present, more than 50% Taiwan enterprises, which participated in “the double shift” , are in traditional shoes and clothing industries.

Due to the influence of the international economy situation and the RMB appreciation, Taiwanese-invested enterprises in Guangzhou are facing multiple pressures, such as reforming industrial and technical enhancement. And the traditional industry receives the biggest pressure.
